Cyclone Dust Collectors

Cyclone dust collectors use centrifugal force to separate dust particles from the air stream. They are designed for use in a wide range of industrial applications, including cement and minerals processing, power generation, and chemical manufacturing.

The dust collectors feature a cylindrical body with a tangentially-mounted inlet, which creates a spinning air flow that separates the dust particles from the clean air. The heavier dust particles are thrown to the walls of the cyclone and then fall to the bottom of the unit, where they are collected in a hopper for disposal. The cleaned air is then discharged through the top of the cyclone.

Depending on the application, some cyclones can screen particles down to 2 microns, but in larger applications prefer the 50-micron range. This makes them well-suited for many applications, but clearly not all.

In addition to their high efficiency, these cyclone dust collectors from Schenck are also known for their durability and low maintenance requirements. They are constructed with heavy-duty steel and feature abrasion-resistant linings, which help to extend the life of the unit. The dust collectors also feature easy-to-access inspection ports and removable hoppers, which make cleaning and maintenance a simple task.

Schenck’s cyclone dust collectors are also highly customizable, with a wide range of options available to meet the specific needs of different industrial applications. For example, they can be configured with different types of inlets and outlets to accommodate different airflow patterns, and can also be equipped with additional features such as explosion venting and abrasion-resistant liners.

In addition to traditional cyclone dust collectors, Schenck also offers a line of high-efficiency cyclones, which are equipped with specially-designed inlets and outlets to improve the separation of dust particles and reduce the pressure drop across the unit. These high-efficiency cyclones are ideal for applications where space is limited, as they offer a compact design and take up less floor space.
