Thermoformers use heat to form packaging to a product’s shape to enhance appearance and shelf-life. ABM distributes Rollstock’s RS-400 thermoformer, which starts at 17′ and is available in a variety of configurations with up to 4 crosscutting systems and 5 web width size options. Widely used by meat processors, cheese manufacturers, seafood packers, prepared-food companies, and large-scale food producers, it automatically forms the packaging, fills it wil product, removes the air, seals it, and cuts it.
Using a “turret” style rather than in-line motion, the rotary model is capabable of many of the same products as the traditional thermoformer, but faster for smaller packages like yogurt cups. Compared with other packaging methods, the thermoformer uses less overall materials and can more easily switch between products.
