Case & Multi-Lane X-Ray
The model for X-raying cases of product delivers superior contaminant detection and other quality checks for large packages. It can detect product voids, missing products, package damage, case weight, item weight, and fill level of the cases or individual products within it. Though larger, it can detect small contaminants just as effectively as smaller units, which is why they are often repurposed to accept multiple lines of smaller products so processors can buy 1 bigger machine instead of multiple smaller ones. The corresponding model is the 720 from Eagle.

The Case x-ray machine delivers unparalleled performance where a large inspection area is required to meet stringent HACCP and food safety requirements. It is extremely flexible, used in a wide variety of applications from shelf-ready case packs, to club packaging, bulk containers, and large bags of pet food. Further, the system is capable of inspecting multiple lines of smaller packaged goods with each lane being inspected and rejected independently. Advanced Image processing and control software is user-friendly and available in 28 languages. Its powerful image analysis routines, on-screen diagnostics and safety system visualization delivers superior performance for local and global users.
SimulTask Repository™ allows review of production statistics, rejected and saved images through the user interface with transfer of the information via USB memory drive for remote viewing or archiving. Locating hard to find contaminants through busy product images is a common and very difficult challenge. The case X-ray machine is available with Material Discrimination X-ray (MDX) technology that clears up those images to reliably identify contaminants and isolate the non-conforming product. All Case x-ray machines are network capable allowing remote diagnostics and often correction by support.
Optimized for Inspection
The Case x-ray machine is supplied with Eagle’s, user-proven image processing and control system optimized for:
- Contaminant detection including bone, metal, glass, stone, high density plastics and rubber.
- Powerful image processing routines are configurable to tailor individual product set-ups in order to optimize performance and deliver superior inspection results.
- Mass inspection which delivers checkweighing functionality and filler feedback to eliminate costly product giveaway and underweight packages.
Material Discrimination X-Ray (MDX) Technology Clears Up Busy Images
Locating hard to find contaminants through busy product images is a common and very difficult challenge. Material Discrimination X-ray (MDX) technology clears up those images to reliably identify contaminants and isolate the non-conforming product. Having the best technology options available, like MDX and PXT, is critical to reach product inspection goals.

Integral Part of a Robust Inspection Program
The Case x-ray machine documents your inspection program while keeping systems up and running at required performance levels.
- Remote Access enables product set-up, machine diagnostics and remote correction by technicians to maximize machine uptime maintaining a low cost of ownership.
- Repository™ allows convenient on-screen review of production statistics, rejected and saved images through its user interface by transfering data via a network path or local USB memory drive for remote viewing or archiving.
- TraceServer™ (optional) delivers enhanced machine monitoring, data transfer and storage via an external database for one or more machines.
Safety is Everyone’s Job
Mechanical and electrical designs are built into all machines.
- Electrical safety circuits meet Category 3 (EN954) and Performance Level “d” (PLd, EN13849) criteria.
- A complete Hazard Based Risk Assessment is available for the Case x-ray machine to integrate into a user’s risk management and safety program.
Saving Product Delivers Profits
Eagle pioneered the use of x-ray for mass measurment of inline food products, providing checkweighing functionality to prevent costly product giveaway. Traditional multi-zone operation is available complete with EU tolerances. Systems can be used for zonal measurement if the weight of multiple areas within a package needs to be measured and monitored. Statistics including count and reject by zone, mean value correction, giveaway calculations and more are actively tracked to further optimize your process.
Production Ready, Built to Last
Machine uptime is critical for a profitable operation. For applications where continuous operation for extended periods combined with inspection of large products is essential, the case X-ray machine integrates a heavy-duty conveyor with a generous inspection area to accommodate most large packages, cases, bags or sacks. Alternately, it can inspect multiple lanes of smaller products with each lane having independent inspection parameters and routines. The system keeps up with aggressive production requirements with speeds up to 101 MPM (330 FPM) so that quality is assured without sacrificing throughput.
