Conveyor Breakdown for Eagle X-Ray

This tutorial video (and the transcript below) details how to remove the conveyor assembly and belt from an Eagle x-ray machine for cleaning or maintenance.

How To Access The Conveyor

Unlatch the tunnel door with the cabinet key. Then lift the catch latch just inside the tunnel. Be careful, this door is heavy. Raise both top louvre covers.

There are 4 bolts holding each of the bottom louvre covers. Use a ½ inch wrench to loosen the bolts and pull the covers away from the cabinet.

Make sure the conveyor support wheels are touching the ground, unlock the brakes, and slide the conveyor out of the machine.

Next to the motor, lift and drop the loop latches to lower the take-up roller. Support the roller against the tension of the belt as it is lowered. A falling roller can damage the equipment, floor, or nearby people. Now remove the roller from the slotted tabs.

How To Remove The Belt

Remove the two idle return rollers from under the belt. The shaft is slotted for the retainers, which are u-shaped and angled away from the cabinet.

Now the belt can be slid in or out from the conveyor easily, and the process reverses to re-install the conveyor.

How to Reassemble The Conveyor

Insert the idle return rollers. Visually confirm they are seated properly.

Insert, raise, and secure the take-up roller.

Slide the conveyor into the machine.

Fasten the lower louvre covers against the cabinet. Visually confirm the interlock keys slide into the interlock body.

Lower the top louvre covers.

Close and lock the tunnel door. Test that the louvre covers are held be the tunnel door. Remove your lockout once work is complete.
