Using Eagle's Product Menus

This video will introduce you to the Product Profile functions of your Eagle x-ray machine. It will cover the Menus related to selecting and editing product profiles. These are presets we create at install that are optimized for the different products run through the machine. Auto-switching these profiles is a feature of DSO Sentinel. Transcript below.

As always, we will navigate Simultask using either the touch screen or, optionally, by plugging in a keyboard and mouse to the USB ports on the control panel.

Selecting Products

To begin, we will change to a higher user level. Select ‘Menu,’ ‘User Level,’ and ‘Member of QS.’ Then enter the appropriate password and click ‘Login.’

Now we can see there are many more options available to us compared to the default Member of Production user. Click ‘Product Selection.’ The ‘Product Selection’ Menu will allow us to change products manually or with an automatic schedule.

To change product manually, find the desired product from the list. If your product list is long, you may find it helpful to use the search bar near the bottom of the screen. If you cannot find the product you are looking for, you may already be in that profile—the currently selected product will not be in this list. After you select a profile, click ‘accept.’

Now we see the batch settings for this product. Usually, we just click ‘accept’ to begin running the product indefinitely. In this mode, statistics will save to the repository when the product is switched again, or the software is stopped.

Alternatively, we could configure the batch settings to save statistics to the repository at intervals based on number of passes, rejects, or weight. This menu can also be used to configure batching with an external signal, or manual input. The manual batch reset will appear on the main screen next to the throughput counter.

Back to the product selection menu, we will select the ‘Shift’ Tab. Here we can select a product, choosing a day and time for that product, and add it to the schedule. We can remove that shift just as easily by selecting it and clicking ‘delete.’ When we have finished, hit OK to accept the changes. When using the Product Selection menu, it is important to note that multi-lane systems need to be managed per lane, on the correct lane.

Editing Product Profiles

Now we will look at the Edit Product menu—the easiest way to add new product profiles. We see three options here, ‘copy,’ ‘delete,’ and ‘rename.’ To make a new product profile, we will click ‘copy,’ then select an existing product profile similar to the new product, enter the name for the new profile into the text field and click ‘accept.’

Now we could switch to that product in the ‘Product Selection’ menu. The ‘Delete’ and ‘Rename’ options function exactly how you would expect. We select the product from the list, make our change, and then click accept.

Once we have finished making our changes, we return to the ‘User Level’ menu, select ‘Member of Production,’ and click login. This returns us to the default user level and will prevent unauthorized changes to the software configuration. Clicking ‘Back’ in the bottom-right corner will display the statistics page again. If you happen to forget to log out, the software will do that for you after a few minutes have passed.
