Calibration for Eagle X-Ray's PXT

This lesson will instruct the user on how to run the material calibration wedge through the system to calibrate some of the detection parameters of Eagle's PXT x-ray equipment. Transcript below.

We need to log into the ‘Member of QS’ user level to start Calibration. Press ‘Menu,’ ‘User Level,’ and ‘Member of QS.’ Enter the password and press ‘Login. Press ‘Product Selection,’ ‘PXT Calibration,’ ‘Accept,’ and ‘Accept,’ again. Check the top right corner of the screen to confirm you are on the ‘PXT Calibration Product.

Check the status indicators at the bottom left corner of the screen for X-ray on, Conveyor Running & Green man running. These indicate the system is actively inspecting and waiting for product.

One of the most important parts of material calibration is understanding when it is beneficial to the inspection process. Lines through the image that do not go away following a normalization are a good indicator that the machine needs a fresh calibration.

Once the machine has warmed up for the required half hour it will be ready for the material calibration.

Ensure no product is running through the system. Next, from the main screen select Menu at the bottom right, then Machine and then Normalize. The system will normalize and, when completed, the Green Stick Figure will continue running indicating the machine is ready for inspection. You could also normalize the machine by stopping the conveyor, restarting it, and pressing the OK button on the normalization warm-up bubble.

Navigate back to the Machine menu and select Material Calibration.

Follow the instruction on screen and run the calibration body through the machine 15 times. Be sure that the Metal mounting brackets are facing the outside edges of the conveyor.

After the calibration body has been run 15 times, the OK button will be illuminated. Press OK to complete the calibration process.’

Once the calibration is completed, resume normal operation by selecting the correct product, normalizing and verifying detection.
