The Sales Process
Ultimately it will begin by filling out this sheet, which you can download as excel or csv. The fastest way to do this is to fill out what you know then send it or call us with any questions. If you're afraid you don't know what you don't know or would prefer to dictate, just call us or submit the form below and we'll ask the necessary questions.
Product & Location
The conversation starts with your product and location because that will determine most of the specs. They determine whether the silo(s) should be corrugated, carbon steel, or stainless, your roof slope, cone slope and possibility of flow-assists, whether they need to be insulated or dehumidified, and whether the silos need ground clearance like in the far right silo in the image above. Also, if you're in a well trafficked location and the silo is visible, it might be a cheap opportunity for signage. We are proud of our designs and can contribute to your aesthetics and branding with simply logo placement or a full canvas.
System Information
Your existing system or future plans will determine the type of discharge the silo needs, type of level indicator, dust collection ports, existence of ladder or viewing port, and so on. As stated above, we can handle this for you, manage subcontractors, or leave it all up to you. Your production levels and system throughput will also determine the optimal size for your silo. We have an ROI calculator here that was made for brewers so mentions grain, but obviously it will work for anything. Just plug in your ingredient volume and costs for how much you produce, and it will tell you how much you will save per month which can be your monthly cost if you need financing.
Engineering
Unless this has already been done for you, we'll need to ensure the materials and strength of the silo will be optimal for your product, determine if you need skirts or leg supports, and make sure the placement and size is appropriate for your seismic environment. Many cities will regulate this and impose their own requirements, but we can help you satisfy them, work around them, or present to your city or county if that's what they need. You will pay for the engineering upfront, and if you stick with us the cost will be applied to the silo. But if you don't like our quote for some reason, you'll have the drawings and can save on that portion anywhere else.
Quoting
If you didn't know why nobody lists silo prices, certainly you do by now. Quoting can take anywhere from one to 3 weeks in the worst of times, as the specifications and current steel costs will determine price, and the number of current orders will determine cost and lead time. But of course we can ballpark you once we have most of the information. Lead times are usually 2-4 months.
