SYSTEM DESIGN, INTEGRATION, AND SERVICE
For startups, mid-sized manufacturers, and 3 of the 5 largest US food producers
ABM Equipment is segmented into 4 divisions as detailed below. ABM X-Ray provides inspection equipment and service, A-1 Scales delivers weighing systems nationally and scale services locally, ABM Brewery handles grain equipment for breweries and distilleries, and we provide dry ingredient systems and equipment as simply ABM Equipment.
Handling, Processing, & Packaging (Dry Goods)
ABM Equipment can handle your entire project from the idea in your head to an efficient, supported system. Our experts source the best-suited equipment, design and engineer the system, integrate it (including in-house fabrication of mezzanines and custom connecting hardware), maintain it, and provide in-house software to control it.
Though we are experienced in virtually every industry, we are particularly known for our bakery, infant formula, potatoes/fries, powdered milk, grain (including malting), gypsum systems. ABM is unique in our ability to handle every part of process—from handling and processing, to packaging. If you need other contractors for liquids or warehousing equipment, for example, ABM Equipment can general contract to coordinate vendors, minimize finger-pointing, and ensure the product is what you envisioned. Give us a call or email us to discuss your project!

Inspection (Any Product)
ABM X-Ray
Having distributed for Heimann when they introduced x-ray to the food processing industry, ABM X-Ray is likely the most experienced x-ray distributor today. We have developed more applications, optimized more models, and serviced more x-ray machines than presumably anyone in the industry. Our software package, DSO Sentinel, was originally created to enhance data collection and simplify the operation of x-ray machines, and has grown to control and analyze virtually any machine. ABM X-Ray has likewise expanded to handle most types of product inspection including checkweighing and metal detection.
ABM Equipment is the exclusive NW distributor for Eagle PI (originally Heimann) as well as a rep. for Mettler Toledo nationwide (for all inspection equipment). We provide all 3 types of x-ray inspection services including machine service, rentals for inspection at your facility, or Contract inspection at ours. Whether you need equipment, systems, or custom solutions for virtually any method of detection, give us a call or email. We're open 8-5 M-F for new customers, and existing customers can call for any equipment troubles 24/7/365.

Scales & Weighing Systems
A-1 Scales
A-1 Scales is a local provider to the southern half of Washington and the northern half of Oregon. It provides scales and the associated services (calibration, repair, and rentals) to every type of business that uses them: doctors offices, schools, POS & shipping companies, veterinarians, cannabis stores, and, of course, food processors.
A-1 Scales configures everything from custom weighting stations to automated batching systems by putting equipment and tanks on load cells. It provides crane scales, train scales, and truck scales alike for the surrounding areas.

Brewing & Distilling Grain Equipment
ABM Brewery
ABM Brewery has become the premier provider of grain handling equipment, systems, and software to the brewing and distilling spaces. We serve startups and multinational breweries & distilleries alike from grain storage and milling to spent grain management. Our grain model of DSO Sentinel has also been configured to handle the equipment in this space. ABM has recently announced dust collection models optimized for brewers and distillers as well as a new roller mill to solve problems common in the industry.

HOW IT STARTED
Starting out as processing equipment reps, Jeff Walling and John Cassa noticed that the wide variation in processes—even within the same product class—made it difficult for equipment manufacturers to provide useful solutions with any real economies of scale.
Jeff and John then hired their first engineer and fabricator to help bridge the gap between equipment and application, starting ABM Equipment. Today, the ABM team helps customers find the best-suited equipment for their needs and customizes it to perform in their facility with in-house design, fabrication, and 24/7 support.
ABM designs and integrates systems for all sizes of companies, from small start-ups to large food companies like Tyson and Cargill, individual solutions to complete processing lines.
